Today Payment Source is pleased to announce that Grace Caputo, Vice President and General Manager of Now Prepay at Payment Source has been named as one of Convenience Store News 2020 Star Women in Convenience. The 2020 Star Women in Convenience (SWIC) Awards is the first and only convenience store industry awards program in Canada that recognizes exceptional women making a difference and demonstrating commitment, innovation and leadership. Now in its third year, the program celebrates the integral role women play in convenience retailing. Winners were chosen following an industry-wide call for nominations: Nominators were asked to illustrate the candidate's innovation, leadership, financial and strategic accomplishments, exceptional performance and charitable initiatives.
“Being recognized by the industry in this way is very humbling,” Says Ms. Caputo. “Watching the industry change over the years, and being able to provide retailers with a solution that is relevant to their customers has been exciting to see.”
Convenience Store News Canada selected 23 winners, up from 17 in 2019 and 11 in 2018. The honourees come from a variety of backgrounds, from independent entrepreneurs to leaders in retail, distribution, manufacturing, industry associations and C-suite executives.
“Even in the darkest days of the COVID-19 crisis, the industry stepped up, wanting to acknowledge their colleagues, clients and industry partners—we received a record number of nominations,” says CSNC editor, Michelle Warren. “Convenience Stores News Canada launched Star Women in Convenience in 2018 and the award continues to gain momentum and prestige. In 2020, we are thrilled to honour and celebrate 23 women shaping and redefining the convenience industry.”
